A couple of months ago I was spending copious amounts of time on Facebook – most of it was, well, a waste of time like Facebook often can be. One day I saw that a friend of mine “liked” Fractal Energy Mandalas. “What on earth is that?”, I thought to myself. Those words were so foreign to me at the time. I clicked on the link Quantum Fractal on Facebook and immediately liked it myself. The truth is I didn’t just like what I saw, I loved what I saw. The images I saw just resonated in my soul. The work of K. Allen Kay is, in a word, breathtaking.
I have a couple of Keith’s mandalas printed and hanging in my mini-office. Every single person (and I do mean that) who walks past my cubicle comments on the beauty of these mandalas. There is something so captivating about this art that can be felt within your soul. If I’m having a particularly stressful day, I only need to look quietly at my favorite mandala for a few moments before I start to feel a sense of inner calm again. K. Allen Kay does personal energy mandalas, relationship mandalas and even corporate mandalas. I highly recommend at least giving his site a visit.
So what IS a mandala?
“Mandalas are divine symbols of wholeness used in ancient and modern times to assist in manifestation, healing, prayer, focus and conscious meditation. Derived from the classical Sanskrit, “mandala” means “circle.” Universal images found all over the world, mandalas grace the rose windows of cathedrals, and other forms of sacred art. Mandalas are everywhere in human culture, and have been used for thousands of years in cultural and spiritual traditions, especially where awareness of unity is understood and celebrated” – K.
