Imagine giving birth to a baby boy only to see that your son was born with no legs and no arms. What kind of life would you expect that child to have? What would you do to ensure he lived a full life? 28 years ago, a baby in Australia was born to parents who faced those questions. Now, Nick Vujicic’s story is known around the world. He’s a man who is living a full, enriched life despite the fact that he was born with no limbs. In fact, the fact that he has no arms and legs has made him into the man he is now – a man with one of the most inspirational stories I’ve ever heard. Watch this video to feel his energy and zest for life:

We all go through struggles in life. It’s part of the journey. Our struggles make us stronger, braver and ultimately, help us be able to better help others who face the same or similar problems. Nick believes that there is a purpose in each of the struggles we encounter in our lives and that it is our attitude towards those struggles that affects how we overcome them. We can face our struggles with a negative attitude: with a “woe is me” or “why me?” outlook. Or, we can face our struggles head-on. Look for the bright side, even in the darkest days. It is the silver lining that pulls us through and makes us stronger.

Hey Lindsay, my mom introduced me to your blog while she was down here. You should set up a Facebook fan page and really promote it — it’s very different than so much garbage in the blogosphere! (Do you like you how I came to your positive, uplifting space and was like, “grrrr blog garbage grrrr”?)
Anyways, keep it up! I’ll be reading.

Thanks for the suggestion Ashley! I was thinking about setting up a Facebook account to promote it but didn’t know if it’d be worth the effort. I guess it’s worth trying!
