How intuitive are you?

Psychic ability is natural and it’s a gift we are all born with. You only need to spend a short period of time with children to know that they just know things – they know who the good people are.  Sometimes, they communicate with loved ones who have passed away.  A good friend of mine had a son who had an imaginary friend named ‘Larry’. Unbeknownst to this child, that was the nickname of his grandfather who had passed away years before he was born.

I prefer to call our psychic abilities intuition:  when people just feel when something’s right or wrong. It’s not just limited to feeling, as some people may see images, while others will trust that little voice they hear inside their mind. This natural soul ability is not purely limited to those transcended masters, or to people who have devoted a lifetime of studying and practicing meditation. It’s not about fortune-telling, crystal balls, or even predicting the future – it IS one of your natural gifts you can tap into at any time.

To be intuitive or psychic is not just something we possess – we need to work on our intuitive skills, really tap into the innate abilities we have. The word psychic is from the Greek word psychos, meaning “of the soul.” By definition, it means that as spiritual beings, we are able to access, receive, and transmit information that reaches beyond our physical body and our natural five senses. We’ve all heard of the ‘sixth sense’ – when we just know something is happening or we get a sense about someone but the only way to explain it is to call it our sixth sense. This is our intuition speaking to us.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Have you ever found yourself singing a song and then turned on the radio and sure enough – that very song was playing?
  • Have you ever just thought of someone only to run into them later that day?
  • Can you get a sense about the type of person someone is before you’ve even met them?
  • Have you ever known the outcome of a situation or an event before it happens?
  • Can you walk into a room and instantly tell what the mood of people in the room is?
  • Do coincidences and synchronicities keep showing up in your life?

If you have answered yes to some or all of these questions, then you’ve tapped into your intuition: your inner compass that says “That’s not a very good idea” or, “Do it!” It is a sense of an inner-awareness. Being psychic or intuitive is quite natural, and can provide you with a ‘compass’ of sorts in all areas of your life: relationships, career, what to have for lunch…(okay, maybe not that one).  You can even use it to connect to nature or to help enhance your creative abilities. There is no limit to how much this natural ability can assist you. Although we all have natural intuitive abilities, fine-tuning and really turning up our abilities is important to fully take advantage. Stay tuned for tips on how to improve your intuitive abilities.

I believe! It happens to me a lot more now because I just follow my gut or intuition to do things (or not at times) and trust itmore. Not sure how to explain it and no one example comes to mind at the moment. I’ve been thinking of people and they’ll call or send me an email. I’ll get the sense that I should wait or pause before doing something and the outcome is better than I could have predicted. It’s more than coincidence. Several times,I’ve bee talking about something and an example of it will happen to prove the point. Good post. Rebecca
