As human beings, we love finding out about ourselves. We soak up assessments of ourselves from others (especially if it’s complimentary!). Many of us have spent (sometimes copious amounts of) time taking personality tests online. There are many types of tests we can take, the most common being the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator.
It is “an assessment psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.”
The MBTI is made up of 16 personality types:
Maybe it’s the ego speaking, but don’t we all love learning about what ‘type’ we are, even if we inherently already know? If you’re a lover of learning about yourself and the different types of people, you’ll enjoy this:
Spiritual personality. It’s something we all have—an affinity for certain wisdom, traditions or inner practices—much like our inclinations toward the food we eat or the clothes we wear. But how do you know if you’re on the path that’s best for you? Spirituality is a lived experience—something deeply personal and uniquely different for everyone. Yet there are still ‘types’ we all fall into.
After 20 years of work in the psychiatric and spiritual fields, Dr. Drew Ross developed what is known as “spiritual personality types.” According to Dr. Ross, “Spiritual personalities are different types of approaches to the world, and to spiritual inquiry.”
According to Dr. Ross, there are 12 spiritual personality types. The names of these personality types come from a variety of ancient languages.
- I Zabater: Visionary Leader
- II Vayater: Visionary Problem Solver
- III Lyremer: Architect
- IV Marraker: Organizer
- V Perfizer: Achiever
- VI Terraker: Earth Lover
- VII Ediamer: Idealist
- VIII Arahter: Inspirer
- IX Devaier: Artist

It comes as no surprise to me that I fall under category 10, the Salumer/Shaman. There are a few of the characteristics of the Salumer that fall in line with my INFJ personality. In other words, this test confirms what I already know: I am an empath, a care giver and an intuitive.
Learning about what ‘type’ of person we are can help us hone into the tools and gifts we have to share with the world. In self-awareness there is strength.
So, what’s your spiritual personality? I’m interested in hearing the different types of people we have here reading!
