On October 22, 2010, the Full moon will be in Aries (again). We experienced a Full moon in Aries in September 2010, too. Unlike most Full moons, that one passed by leaving me largely un-phased. Generally speaking, as a Cancer (ruled by the moon) I tend to be pretty deeply affected by the phases of the moon. These effects have made me curious as to what the Full Moon means and wow – I didn’t realize just how much there is to learn about Full moons. They’re all different (depending on which sign they fall under).
All full moon phases have a tendency to bring things we tend to keep hidden deep within our subconscious to the forefront, leaving us more aware and helping us move through our “junk” (for lack of a better word). For some people, that entails being hot/cold, overly emotionally and sometimes making rash decisions. This Full moon on October 22nd we’ll ditch the mood swings for taking action. Make good use of the Aries energy and get things done, in other words. Letting go and making changes.
This particular Full moon will force us to look at love through a different lens than what we ordinarily would. You may find yourself asking: What is love? Not just love as in relationship love, but love in dealing with everything around you. Love of work, love of your neighbor, love of potato chips and fries. You get the idea. (Okay, maybe not the last one). This second Full moon in Aries will help those who have been clinging on to something (or someone) let go. No matter how much you love that someone or something, you need to set it free and now is the time to do it.
One of the unique markers of this Full moon is that is will help all Cardinal Astrological signs (Aries, Libra, Capricorn & Cancer) look for the truth and strive to be the best they can be in all facets. If you’re a cardinal sign, be prepared to be intensely affected by the moon this Friday.
If you’ve ever had your birth chart done (and if you haven’t, you can get in touch with me), find where Aries falls in your chart. For me, Aries falls in the 9th house of my chart, which means this Full moon will bring up any issues I have around independence and my personal quests. It will leave me and anyone else with Aries in their 9th house feeling more optimistic and forward-looking rather than continuing to dwell on the past.
