Mercury retrograde in Aries

Mercury retrograde in Aries –

Well, it’s that time again: Mercury in Retrograde. From March 30 – April 23, 2011 we once again deal with the Trickster in the sky going retrograde. The last time I wrote about this, we experienced Mercury in Retrograde in Virgo. Clearly – we survived it!

This time, Mercury is retrograde in Aries.  Aries is a fire-sign.  A “go-getter”, rarely stop to rest kind of sign. I often call Aries people the young souls of the Zodiac – eager to go out and experience life as intensely as possible.  Aries detests being held back, so we can anticipate that Mercury being retrograde in this sign means it can be brash, pushy, insensitive, impatient, and bossy. Basically, it’ll “act” like a toddler Aries who doesn’t get his or her way.

One of my best friends is an Aries and she started feeling the effects of this retrograde period days before it even started. Communication problems, technology not cooperating, work computer on the fritz. She tried sending me a picture via text message three times yesterday and I have yet to receive it. We have Mercury to thank for that! Other Cardinal signs in the Zodiac (Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will likely feel the effects of this retrograde more than other signs.

This year, we will see Mercury in retrograde 3 times – and each time it will be in a fire sign (Aries, Leo & Sagittarius). That’s enough to make this Cancer sun/Virgo moon want to run and hide. Which I guess is fitting for retrograde periods when we’re supposed to:

  • Rewind
  • Relax
  • Reconsider
  • Repair
  • Rethink

When you look at those words, you realize that Mercury in retrograde isn’t all that bad or scary. In fact, the retrograde periods help us to move away from the past and plan the bold, brave steps we will take into our future. Retrograde down time allows us to mull over major changes before we make them. Mercury’s transit in Aries should be your time to consider what initiatives you are going to take to change your life for the better. Patience and planning are key. Really plan out your course of action after reflecting on the past,  rethinking what you know and recharging your ‘batteries’. And then go get ‘er done.

Here is my two cents to survive this MR (Mercury Retrograde)

-To fight subway/bus delays: Give yourself a bit extra time for commuting for the next 3 weeks– that has worked for me so far!

-Technology: there is not much you can do about Cell phone malfunctions or computer freezes: just smile and be patient –Try to give yourself extra time to do your regular stuff at work.

-Relationship tips: If the person you are trying to reach seems to be ignoring you all day and not replying to any of your MMS and e-mails, give her a special “MR benefit of doubt”!! Try to contact her from a different platform: if the personal e-mail doesn’t work, try work E-mail Facebook or 4square!!

-April’s fool: April fool’s day jokes and pranks will be extremely out of hand because of Mercury retrograde! Make sure to not make any crazy April’s fool joke tomorrow! (Re-think of the consequences)!!

Great information Hana joon! Love 'em. You're my personal Astrology expert. I think you need to guest post some time soon :) I like your relationship tip: "MR benefit of the doubt", which is a good tip, particularly for clingy Cancers or worry wart Virgos.

As for the April Fools' jokes, the joke just might be on the prankster if Mercury has its way, right?

Send ideas my way for Astrology related articles. It's one of my very favorite topics but there is just SO MUCH to cover that I often feel overwhelmed with choices! Next up, maybe something about sun/moon sign compatibility with a potential love?

PS: Remember when you asked how many more ways we could communicate with one another (besides 4square, Facebook, phone, email and text)? Well, I think we just found another: blog comments! I'm thinking telepathy really isn't THAT far off…
